The ME Hub began in 2021 with a mission to support individuals during a time of uncertainty that Covid -19 brough to our lives. What started as a small effort to help micro-entrepreneurs during Covid soon evolved into a growing community. Early members from South Africa, artisans, creators, and small-business owners, joined the Hub seeking guidance, clarity, and structure. Mentoring sessions, skill development, and meaningful conversations formed the backbone of the year. This was also the period when the Hub’s identity, philosophy, and purpose began to take shape.
By establishing and nurturing six business ventures to become both steady and self-sustaining, the strategy involves channelling funds from personal philanthropy to enable scaling and operational stability. This approach leverages philanthropic capital not only to support individual businesses but also to drive economies of scale, allowing shared resources and efficiencies across ventures. Ultimately, the goal is to foster long-term viability and impact, transforming charitable investment into a sustainable platform for growth and community benefit.
In 2023, the Hub entered a major transition as the business shifted from South Africa to the UAE. This marked a strategic move into a new region filled with diverse communities and untapped potential. The focus was on understanding how to operate sustainably within the UAE while preparing the foundations for a fully online model. This year was about relocation, recalibration, and aligning the Hub’s long-term vision with the opportunities available in the Emirates.
The year 2024 was dedicated to deeply studying the UAE market, the micro-entrepreneurs, their needs, their challenges, and the unique legal and cultural frameworks that shape entrepreneurial journeys in the region. The Hub refined its offerings, redesigned internal processes, and adapted its mentorship structures to better support individuals living in the UAE. This phase was essential for ensuring that our support model aligned with local expectations while staying true to our core purpose.
In 1st half of 2025, significant backend work took place to expand digitally through platforms like YouTube. The goal was to reach individuals beyond our immediate community by offering free content that could guide them through the early stages of entrepreneurship. This included concept development for podcast-style conversations where guests share their real challenges, fears, and successes, helping people understand that their struggles are normal and that there is clarity at the end of the process. This year focused on building tools that empower people long before they officially join the Hub.
By second half of 2025, The ME Hub made a strong digital leap with the launch of its official website. Alongside this, multiple free resources were introduced to support individuals at the very beginning of their entrepreneurial journey. Tools such as the Drive-O-Meter, Discovery Calls, and guided support systems were created to help people assess their readiness, understand their strengths, and easily reach out for help. This year marked a shift toward accessibility, ensuring that anyone in the UAE who wishes to begin their purpose-driven journey has the resources and guidance to take their first steps.
